1) Magnolia students will have virtual school on Fridays - For the rest of the fall semester, students that attended the Magnolia School District will attend classes remotely on Fridays. The school is having to make adjustments due to Covid- 19 after the high number of positive cases. Last week, the school had the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the state with a number of 26. The district will allow students to come to school on Friday, however, school busses will not run. Parents will be required to drop off and pick up students on those days. Lunches will be available for students at all campuses on Fridays also. (Magnolia Reporter)

2) Magnolia feels a slight impact from hurricane Delta - Although 2-5 inches of rainfall was predicted for the Magnolia area on Saturday, hurricane Delta delivered only 0.82 inches of rain from the category 2 storm. Hurricane Delta took a similar route as hurricane Laura and delivered peak winds of 32 mph in Southern Arkansas. (Magnolia Reporter) 

3) Little Rock man shot, injured while driving home from the store, police say - According to authorities, Devin Bone, 29, told police that he was injured while driving home from a convenience store Sunday afternoon. Bone said that after he left the store, a black car followed him and pulled up to the driver's side of the car. The unidentified gunman was said to be wearing a white tanktop and shot Bone below his left arm and hitting the car. The gunman fled and Bone drove home, where another man drove him to the hospital to be treated for non-fatal injuries. Currently, there has been no arrest and no listed suspects. (Arkansas Democrat-Gazette)

4) Arkansas man turns self in for raping teen on a camping trip- On Wednesday, a man from Jonesborrow admitted to raping a teen on a camping trip. The mother of a 15-year-old girl reported that an extended family member engaged in sexual conduct with the underage girl on a camping trip to Lake Norfork on July 1. The victim told authorities that Jerry Busch, 63, gave her alcohol while they were out on a boat. She said that she later woke up in a camper to Busch performing sexual acts on her. The girl said that he later apologized but admitted that he would like to do it again. Busch claimed to be too intoxicated to remember what happened in the camper, however; after being interviewed by two other individuals, including the victim's father, Busch was said to have admitted to having raped the victim. The information was forwarded to the prosecuting attorney and charges were filed for rape and first-degree child endangerment. After turning himself in, Busch was booked and later released on a $75,000 bond. He will appear in court on October 15. (KATV News) 

5) Los Angeles area mailman uses a belt to save man injured in chainsaw accident: 'Everyday hero'- Officials hail mailman as an 'everyday hero' after he saves a man that sliced his arm up with a chainsaw. While working his route in Norwalk on Friday, postal carrier Fernando Garcia heard someone yelling for help and found a man covered in blood. Garcia used his belt as a tourniquet to stop the bleeding of the injured man. According to the station, Garcia learned this technique from watching movies. The injured man is expected to recover. (Fox News)

6) Utah hiker stalked by a cougar for 6 minutes while he slowly backs away - While on a run in Utah, Kyle Burgess, encountered a mother cougar and her cubs on a trail. Burgess started filming what he thought was a bobcat but was instead stalked by a female mountain lion for 6 minutes. The video begins with Burgess filming the baby cougars before their mother comes running up. Burgess gave the big cat a few choice words before slowly backing away while growling and yelling at the animal. Burgess tells the cougar that he doesn't "feel like dying today" and throws some rocks at it. The cougar runs off to her cubs and Burgess made it back to his car safely. (CNN)

7) Police station near Paris attacked with fireworks - According to officials, 40 people armed with fireworks and metal bars attacked a police station to the south of Paris. The assailants broke windows and caused damage to cars, and although unsuccessful, tried to storm the police station. The area of the station is known for drug trafficking, but the attack could also be in retaliation for a recent scooter incident allegedly caused by police. (BBC News) 

8) Killer in Canada who dismembered rich relative gets 10-year sentence - After shooting his business partner outside of a Vancouver mansion, Zhao Li dismembered the body into 108 pieces. The Chinese immigrant admitted to the murder in 2015. On Monday, Li, 60, was sentenced to 10 years and 6 months in prison after his conviction of interfering with human remains and manslaughter. After the murder, Li has been in custody for 5 years with each day counting as 1.5 days towards his custody. Zhao now has 2 years, 4 months, and 8 days left to serve, according to the judge. 9) Auburn escapes upset-minded Arkansas after controversial late call - With 0.07 remaining, Auburn kicked a field goal resulting in a win with a score of 30-28. The field goal was kicked after a controversial call after it was undetermined by referees if Bo Nix fumbled the ball. After further review, it was confirmed that the ball was indeed fumbled, however, Arkansas could not be rewarded the ball because there was no immediate recovery. (Sports Illustrated) 

10) Khloe Kardashian reflects on the end of Keeping Up With The Kardashians: 'we were not even supposed to be on TV' - After Keeping Up with the Kardashians was announced to be going off the air after 14 years, Khloe Kardashian shared what being on the show meant to her. Khloe said that the show ending is "bittersweet", especially because the show was loved by many over the span of 20 seasons. Khloe also admitted that the show was only supposed to be a filler because another show fell through. The family was told, "don't get too comfortable, your just a filler". (People Magazine) 

11) 'Bachelorette' Villain Luke Parker ordered to pay producers $100,000 - Because of a breach of contract, Luke Parker will be paying a large sum to producers. Parker's contract with NZK productions forbids him from participating in any unauthorized media appearances between the time the contract was signed and the last broadcast date of the season. However, Parker made many unauthorized media appearances between this time. He also breached his contract further by talking negatively about the show and its production. (Entertainment Tonight) 

12) 'iphone' is trending on twitter - 'iphone' is currently trending on twitter as the 2020 new phone lineup is revealed. People on twitter are currently debating the new updates Apple has made on the iPhone 12, including the information that they will no longer be selling headphones or chargers with an iPhone purchase. The reason behind this is to reduce carbon emissions. (Twitter) 

13) Illinois man keeps sandwich that Richard Nixon half-ate 60 years ago - When Richard Nixon visited the home town of Steve Jenne on September 22, 1960, Jenne grabbed Nixon's unfinished sandwich and still has it till this day. Jenne has been invited to many TV shows to discuss the sandwhich, including "The Tonight Show" with Johny Carson. There was even a book about the sandwhich co-written by Jenne last year. Jenne was 14 at the time he took the sandwhich, he took it back to his mother and asked her to preserve it. Jenne's mother put the sandwich in a jar and put it in the freezer. The sandwich remained in the freezer until Jeene moved out and put it in his own freezer. Jenne says he will not throw out the leftovers any time soon. (Fox News)

14) Just monkeying around: primate takes phone then selfies - A Malaysian finally tracks down the culprit who stole his phone while he was sleeping. Zachrydz Rodzi, 20, finally found his phone after a monkey stole it and took selfies and videos before finally abandoning it. Rodzi says that the monkey probably thought that the phone was food due to the colorful phone case. The photos were blurry but the monkey can be seen in a few. The videos appeared to show the monkey trying to eat the phone. Rodzi has stated that his house will be under total lockdown from now on. (U.S. News and World Report) 

15) Disorderly goat takes over cop car, head-butts deputy and eats all the paperwork - A sheriff's deputy in Georgia had a big surprise when she returned to her car to find a goat inside. The unnamed deputy was serving civil papers at home when this took place. The door to her cop car is usually left open because she has had to retreat from vicious dogs in the past. The goat was found eating paper work in the front seat and head-butted the deputy in the knees when it exited the vehicle. The deputy was knocked to the ground but was not injured. The department said that they find the ordeal quite humorous and hope the public does as well. (The Huffington Post)
